How to configure the condenser unit and evaporator for the cold storage?

1、Refrigeration condenser unit configuration table

Compared with large cold storage, the design requirements of small cold storage are more easy and simple, and the matching of units is relatively simple. Therefore, the heat load of general small cold storage usually does not need to be designed and calculated, and the refrigeration condenser unit can be matched according to empirical estimation.

No matter what brand of refrigeration compressor unit, it is determined according to the evaporating temperature and the effective working volume of the cold storage.

In addition, parameters such as condensation temperature, storage volume, and frequency of goods entering and leaving the warehouse should also be referred to.

We can simply estimate the cooling capacity of the unit according to the following formula:

01), the formula for calculating the cooling capacity of high temperature cold storage is:
Refrigeration capacity = cold storage volume × 90 × 1.16 + positive deviation;

The positive deviation is determined according to the condensation temperature of the frozen or refrigerated items, the storage volume, and the frequency of goods entering and leaving the warehouse, and the range is between 100-400W.

02), the formula for calculating the cooling capacity of the medium-temperature active cold storage is:

Refrigeration capacity = cold storage volume × 95 × 1.16 + positive deviation;

The range of positive deviation is between 200-600W;

03), the formula for calculating the cooling capacity of the low-temperature active cold storage is:

Refrigeration capacity = cold storage volume × 110 × 1.2 + positive deviation;

The range of positive deviation is between 300-800W.

  1. 2.Quick selection and design of refrigeartion evaporator:

01), Refrigeration evaporator fo freezer

The load per cubic meter is calculated according to W0=75W/m3;

  1. If V (cold storage volume) < 30m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.2;
  2. If 30m3<V<100m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.1;
  3. If V≥100m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.0;
  4. If it is a single refrigerator, multiply the coefficient B = 1.1; the final selection of the cooling fan of the cold storage is W=A*B*W0 (W is the load of the cooling fan);
  5. The matching between the refrigeration unit and the air cooler of the cold storage is calculated according to the evaporating temperature of -10 °C;

02)、Refrigeration evaporator fo fronzon cold storage.

The load per cubic meter is calculated according to W0=70W/m3;

  1. If V (cold storage volume) < 30m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.2;
  2. If 30m3<V<100m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.1;
  3. If V≥100m3, the cold storage with frequent opening times, such as fresh meat storage, multiply the coefficient A=1.0;
  4. If it is a single refrigerator, multiply the coefficient B=1.1;
  5. The final cold storage cooling fan is selected according to W=A*B*W0 (W is the cooling fan load);
  6. When the cold storage and the low temperature cabinet share the refrigeration unit, the matching of the unit and the air cooler shall be calculated according to the evaporating temperature of -35°C. When the cold storage is separated from the low temperature cabinet, the matching of the refrigeration unit and the cooling fan of the cold storage is calculated according to the evaporating temperature of -30 °C.

03)、Refrigeration evaporator for the cold storage processing room:

The load per cubic meter is calculated according to W0=110W/m3:

  1. If V (volume of processing room)<50m3, multiply the coefficient A=1.1;
  2. If V≥50m3, multiply the coefficient A=1.0;
  3. The final cold storage cooling fan is selected according to W=A*W0 (W is the cooling fan load);
  4. When the processing room and the medium temperature cabinet share the refrigeration unit, the matching of the unit and the air cooler shall be calculated according to the evaporating temperature of -10℃. When the processing room is separated from the medium temperature cabinet, the matching of the cold storage unit and the cooling fan shall be calculated according to the evaporating temperature of 0 °C.
